Vacation couldn’t have come at a better time. With all the excitement of a new church and a growing business, I’ve honestly felt the need to get away and just breathe. What a great start to a much needed vacation! We stopped at the Lashey-Ruth farm to visit my wonderful family and already I’m feeling refreshed. Tonight I was treated to a meal with vegetables straight from the garden! I took a short walk with my oldest daughter Abby to explore all of the wonders of the farm and I found myself overwhelmed by the goodness of God! My heart is full and I’m feeling renewed within. My thoughts turned to Psalm 103:1-5.
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
2 Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
4 He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Some highlights from our walk. Above – a view of the crops – soy beans on the left and corn on the right.
Below – some of God’s handiwork on the farm landscape – (clockwise from top left) new watermelons, a bouquet of cone flowers, my delicious dinner, a humming bird nest, butterfly weed, home grown jalapenos

Yes, it’s great to get away. It’s even better to be able to take the time to slow down and see the glory of the God I serve!
